Manchester United appear to have avoided another injury scare after young striker Anthony Martial was seen leaving Wembley Stadium on crutches.

The young Frenchman had to be replaced after 67 minutes during France's 2-0 defeat to England on an emotional night at the national stadium.

The 19-year-old was replaced by Antoine Griezmann and later seen needing crutches to walk onto the team bus, with his left foot heavily bandaged.

With Michael Carrick taken off on a strecher during England's defeat to Spain on Friday, United manager Louis van Gaal may have been fearing the worst for his £36million man.

But French manager Didier Deschamps eased some of the worry, saying the injury was just 'a knock'.

"He's in quite a bit of pain after the match as a result of a play inside the area," France manager Didier Deschamps said of the 19-year-old striker.

"It's a knock to the top of his foot."
