“There was a lot of truth to [the story],” he admitted, during a pre-match press conference ahead of Leipzig's meeting with Schalke this weekend.
“I have heard of worse fates than succeeding the longest-serving manager in England. It's not damaging my reputation, is it?”
“We don't have to put too much thought into it,” he added.
Hasenhuttl, whose RB Leipzig side are unbeaten so far this season, only arrived at the newly-promoted club in the summer.

The former Austria international had previously built his healthy reputation by taking Ingolstadt from the bottom end of Germany’s second-tier to the top flight in 2015.
Last month Stan Kroenke, Arsenal’s majority owner, indicated that he wants Wenger to extend his 20-year stay at the club.
