Arsenal are set to offer midfielder Mesut Ozil a new contract, despite his current deal only expiring in 2018.

The club are holding a review of first-team contracts and, despite being the club's his performances often being scrutinised by pundits and supporters alike, Ozil is line to benefit from new and improved terms.

The World Cup-winning Germany international enjoyed an upturn in form towards the end of last season but, as Arsene Wenger's men have struggled for consistency this term, his role has been questioned again.

In his five Premier League appearances so far this season, Ozil has failed to find the back of the net. However, he does have two assists to his name and ranks as the club's second-most creative force, behind fellow midfielder Santi Cazorla.

Last week, Ozil's agent surprisingly linked his client with a summer move to Fenerbahce. claimed that the Super Lig club were willing to make a 'serious' offer for the playmaker's services and appeal to his Turkish heritage.

Nacho Monreal, the Spanish left-back who has made the left-back berth his own this calendar year, is also set to be offered a new deal. It is believed that the club wish to extend the Spaniard's stay at the Emirates by three years.
