Aston Villa vs Newcastle United team news: New Villa signing Carlos Sanchez on the bench as Alan Pardew names unchanged team
Colombian could make his Villa debut against Pardew's Toon
Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has named an unchanged starting line-up from the home defeat to Manchester City for the visit to Villa Park.
The Magpies were downed by two well-worked strikes from David Silva and Sergio Aguero as the Premier League champions began their title defence in style.
Villa, on the other hand, could hand new marquee signing Carlos Sanchez a debut from the bench after Paul Lambert named the Colombian among his seven substitutes.
Ron Vlaar, subject to interest from Southampton, starts in the heart of defence while last week's goal hero against Stoke City Andreas Weimann starts up front.
Aston Villa: Guzan, Hutton, Senderos, Vlaar, Cissokho, Westwood, Delph, Richardson, Weimann, N’Zogbia, Agbonlahor.
Subs: Given, Baker, Bacuna, Cole, Bent, Sanchez, Grealish.
Newcastle United: Krul; Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett; Anita, Colback; Gouffran, Sissoko, Cabella; Riviere.
Subs: Elliot, Haidara, S.Taylor, Abeid, Obertan, de Jong, Perez.
