Ryan Bertrand has signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea, the club will announce today.

The 23-year-old left-back who is currently in the England squad for the forthcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers has proved that he can play at left-back and on the left side of midfield, featuring there in the Champions League final last season.

Bertrand has been at the club since joining from Gillingham as a 16-year-old in 2005.
