Bolton Wanderers completed the signing of Bernard Mendy from Paris St-Germain last night.
The highly rated right-back flew in for a meeting at Bolton and agreed a year-long loan deal with a view to a full-time transfer. Mendy chose to join Sam Allardyce's side rather than the option of staying at PSG or joining their French rivals Lens. Bolton now have first option on Mendy and the price would be around £4m.
Kenny Cunningham is set to sign a four-year deal with Birmingham City today in preference to a move to Sunderland. The Republic of Ireland World Cup squad player will cost around £500,000 as Wimbledon reduce their wage bill. The Birmingham manager, Steve Bruce, sees Cunningham's versatility as both a centre-back and full-back as helpful to his squad.
Fulham have completed the signing of the Japanese World Cup player Junichi Inamoto. The former Arsenal midfielder has joined on a 12-month loan from Gamba Osaka, but the deal includes the option of a three-year extension option with a permanent contract. Fulham are also set to beat Ajax to the signature of the Vitesse Arnhem striker Victor Sikora. A fee has been agreed, believed to be just under £4m.
Tottenham's Norwegian midfielder Oyvind Leonhardsen has admitted he would interested in a move to Schalke 04, but has denied having any contact with the German side, who, some reports had suggested, were willing to pay £1.7m for him.
Dynamo Kiev have denied reports that the unsettled Tottenham striker Sergei Rebrov is to return to them.
