Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has denied claims of racism after he was accused by defender Marcos Angeleri of not picking him because he is not English.

"I'm deeply upset," Bruce said. "There is nothing more damaging. Of all the things that have been thrown at me over the years, that is the charge that hurts the most."
