El Hadji Diouf, 30, has left Blackburn by mutual consent. "I think we reached a mutual consent termination of his contract," manager Steve Kean said.

The striker has been involved in several on and off the field disputes during his career, and in July was suspended for five years from all football-related activity in his home country, Senegal, for claiming "the whole system of African football is corrupt". He had a loan spell at Rangers last season.
