Liverpool will be without Steven Gerrard for their crucial clash with Arsenal on Tuesday.

The inspirational captain is expected to be out for another seven to 10 days with a groin strain, consequently missing the match at Anfield. Gerrard could also miss out on Liverpool's away game to Hull at the weekend.

Meanwhile Arsenal will be without Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor, who are suffering from groin and hamstring problems respectively.

Although Arsene Wenger will be boosted by the availability of Bacary Sagna who has recovered from a virus and Eduardo, who has been declared fit.

Liverpool are just one point behind Manchester United in the chase for the Premier League crown, but have played a game more. A win for Rafael Benitez's team would heap pressure on Alex Ferguson's men, who play a day later at home to Portsmouth.
