The Leeds United captain Dominic Matteo is manager Terry Venables' major doubt ahead of their meeting with the Ukrainian side Metalurg Zaporizhya at Elland Road. Matteo has been struggling with a knee problem for most of the season, with the injury forcing him off at half-time in Saturday's 1-0 win over Manchester United. Nick Barmby, who was also substituted during the interval with a back injury, is unlikely to figure, joining Seth Johnson, Jason Wilcox, Teddy Lucic and Robbie Fowler on the sidelines. Venables has confirmed that Michael Bridges will make his long-awaited return from injury, with the striker being given a place on the bench. Zaporizhya have had a poor start to their domestic season but a weekend win lifted them up to fourth from bottom of the table.
