Dave Jones, the Wolverhampton Wanderers manager, has been asked by the Football Association to explain the comments he made about referee Uriah Rennie after last Saturday's 2-1 defeat by Bolton.
Jones described the performance of the official as "unacceptable". Rennie turned down two penalty appeals from Wolves.
"I made my comments and I stand by them," Jones said yesterday. "There are some quotes that appeared that I didn't say but I'm happy to write down the ones I did. I made my feelings clear but I don't think I was abusive or derogatory."
Meanwhile, Henri Camara has been charged by the FA over the tackle that resulted in Southampton's Jason Dodd being carried from the pitch.
After reviewing video evidence, referee Mark Halsey said he believes the tackle was "reckless" and "endangered" Dodd, and therefore should have warranted a red card.
