Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson can be expected to add some punch to his next midfield performance after spending time with boxing star Amir Khan.
The Reds' vice-captain spent time with the former world champion at the club's Melwood training ground, with Henderson spending time in the ring and then Khan donning his boots for some free-kick practice.
"Really good to meet Amir Khan today," said Henderson, who travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday.
"Great man and was good to get on the pads with him. Need a few tips after getting myself in a few tiffs."
Khan later replied: "Good day with Liverpool football player Jordan Henderson.
"Thanks for teaching me some football skills and hope you enjoyed the boxing session."
Khan, 28, is pushing for a mega-fight against either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao this year. If neither of those happen he could have a domestic dust-up with long-time rival and IBF Welterweight Champion Kell Brook.
Khan and Henderson met as the Liverpool striker has just been signed to sports nutrition brand MaxiNutrition.
