Chelsea completed the £26.1million signing Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado on Deadline Day, with Mohamed Salah heading to Fiorentina on loan.

The 26-year-old winger comes with a big reputation; here are a few things you may not know about him:

  • Born on May 26 in the north-eastern town of Neocoli, 500 miles from Colombia's capital, Bogota.

  • The name Juan Cuadrado translates to John Square in English.

  • Juan Cuadrado's father, Guillermo, was murdered when he was just four-years-old - Juan was ordered to hide under the bed by his mother. Guillermo's murderers were never brought to justice.

  • Spent his late teenage years in Colombia's lower leagues before signing for Categoria Primera A side Indipendiente Medellin at 20.

  • Signed by Udinese after just one season for a small fee in 2009 but struggled to make an impression, playing just 24 matches in all competitions in two seasons.

  • Made his international debut against Venezuela in September 2010. He was named man of the match after scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 win.

  • Loaned to Lecce in 2011 but could not help the side avoid relegation to Serie B despite a good season individually.

  • Completed a loan move from Udinese to Fiorentina in July 2012.

  • Helped La Viola to 4th in Serie A in his first season, scoring five goals and adding six assists.
