Liverpool's versatile Dutch forward Dirk Kuyt has confirmed that talks took place with Internazionale over the summer, before the Reds declared their player not for sale.
Kuyt, 30, was heavily linked with a move away from Anfield, especially after former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez took charge at the San Siro.
However, Liverpool eventually opted to keep hold of Kuyt, who has scored 52 goals in 204 appearances in his four years on Merseyside.
Kuyt commented: "I cannot deny there were negotiations with Inter.
"It was pleasing to be courted by such a prestigious club, led by the coach who brought me to England and with whom I still have a splendid rapport.
"However, Liverpool declared I was not for sale and I am, in any case, happy to have stayed in the Premier League."
