Sadio Mane has already celebrated three goals this season as Liverpool got off to a flying start with wins against West Ham and Crystal Palace.

Mane converted James Milner’s cut back pass, then slotted a low finish against West Ham to add a second, and scored late against Palace.

All three goals were celebrated in relatively routine fashion by the Senegalese winger, but it is often his celebrations of other people’s goals that get people talking.

Mane has been spotted copying Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho’s celebrations in the background. Fans noticed his kung-fu kick to celebrate Firmino’s Champions League goal, as well as a number of dances with the Brazilian forward and Coutinho.

When asked about them by Copa90, Mane insisted that they were in fact his celebrations. “The fans deserve to know the truth,” he said. “They have to stop copying me, not me stop copying them.

“The kick was me because usually we try to train in training grounds all the time.

“Any goal I was behind, he did it. The dance we have done with me Phillip and Bobby was my dance. All is my dance. The people think it is their dance, but it is my dance.”

Liverpool’s fast start has been helped by helped by the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig. His technical skill, awareness and energy in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield has been integral to Liverpool's fast start.

Mane opened up on his blossoming relationship with the Guinean, but said it is tiring work helping him settle.

“It’s too much work but it’s fine. Now he has his own English teacher so I can rest at home and not translate all the time,” Mane said.

“He’s enjoying playing for Liverpool and he’s a very, very happy boy so he’s excited to play with us especially to do something special this season.”

In the interview he also revealed losing the Champions League final in May was “not an easy” moment, and that he is “quicker” than Mohamed Salah.

However, in a shocking admission, he declared that James Milner is the most mischievous player in the squad’s group chat, the one that circulates the funny videos and pictures.

“Milner, he’s so, so funny sometimes.”
