Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is set to return for tonight’s clash against league leaders Leicester City as Jurgen Klopp’s injury problems finally appear to be easing.

Henderson missed Liverpool’s 0-0 draw against West Ham United at the weekend having been withdrawn early from the previous game against Stoke in the Capital One Cup with a heel problem. His return to midfield is a welcome boost for Klopp ahead of a vital league clash.

The Liverpool manager will revert to his strongest side after resting players against the Hammers in the FA Cup, knowing a win at the King Power will close the gap on the Premier League’s top four.

Strikers Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi, midfielder Philippe Coutinho and defender Martin Skrtel are all set to return to training this week, but Danny Ings and Joe Gomez remain sidelined with knee injuries. Klopp confirmed on Monday that Ings is still a ‘long way’ from a first-team return.
