Liverpool could be faced with a Christmas logjam of fixtures after the dates for the Fifa Club World Cup were finally confirmed.

The Champions League winners will travel to Qatar for the semi-finals on 18 December with the final/third-place playoff to take place on 21 December.

Jurgen Klopp had stressed his irritation earlier this week that the club were yet to receive any information from Fifa in regards to when the tournament would take place.

The tournament will cause Liverpool’s away trip to West Ham on 21 December to be rearranged, while if the Reds are to reach the League Cup quarter-finals, that fixture would also have to be moved.

It means that Klopp’s side will play four matches within a week, while the one/two rearranged fixtures will have to be crammed into an already overloaded schedule.

Liverpool's Christmas fixture logjam

14 Dec – Watford (H)
17/18 Dec – Potential League Cup quarter-final to be rearranged
18 Dec – Club World Cup semi-final
21 Dec – Club World Cup final
21 Dec – West Ham (A) – to be rearranged
26 Dec - Leicester City (A)

Liverpool are taking part in seven separate competitions this season: Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.
