Manchester United and Manchester City played out a goalless draw at Old Trafford.

The result will leave both sides frustrated, with the pair missing out on what was an opportunity to prove their Premier League title credentials while simultaneously denting the confidence of one of their main rivals.

The draw sees Manchester City move back to the top of the table, but only on goal difference with Arsenal sharing the same number of points. Manchester United remain fourth.

Chris Smalling arguably came closest to winning the match, with his low poke at goal in the dying few minutes only kept out of the net by a superb Joe Hart save.
