Manchester United take on West Brom this weekend, knowing victory would take them closer to securing a return to the Champions League.

Liverpool's defeat in midweek means six more points from their final four games will be enough to ensure a finish in the top four. Meanwhile, finishing above local rivals Manchester City remains a target, and with the reigning champions just two points ahead, it remains a realistic possibility.

But if Louis van Gaal is to mastermind a victory over Tony Pulis' side at Old Trafford this weekend he must do so without a few key players, including his captain Wayne Rooney.
