Wes Brown has singled out Manchester United midfielder Anderson as the least intelligent footballer he has played with.

The duo were Old Trafford team-mates for four years between Anderson's arrival at the club in 2007 and Brown's departure for Sunderland in 2011.

Brown was asked during an interview for Sunderland's official YouTube channel who the least intelligent footballer he'd played alongside during his 18-year career as a centre-back.

"Not going to say anyone here [at Sunderland] because that will get back," said Brown.

"I'd go Anderson. Just because when I was with him he was there for five or six years and I honestly still don't think he can speak English."

Brown was responding to a series of quick-fire questions in which he also revealed that Ryan Giggs was the best he'd played with and either Cristiano Ronaldo or Nani were the fastest. Meanwhile, Quinton Fortune was the funniest because he was "always messing about and pranking".
