Andreas Pereira has denied offering a student £10,000 to have a threesome with him and Manchester United team-mate Paddy McNair, saying stories of that nature are "part of things" in England.

The Brazilian was alleged by Kelly McKinney to have been offered cash for sex by the two players after a meeting following the club's Christmas party last year, with Pereira then reported to have tracked her down via Twitter and inviting McKinney to his home.

"I was really surprised because it’s not true," the 19-year-old Pereira told Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte.

"It was the first time that happened to me. But it’s part of things here [in England], I have to learn to deal with it.

"But I didn’t do anything.

"They will invent if they want to invent."

It was never suggested that McNair was involved or made aware of the text messages that Pereira sent. McKinney told The Sun at the time that she felt 'insulted' by the low offer.

“I nearly fell off my chair when he offered me £10,000 for a threesome. What kind of low-life does that? I'm not that kind of person at all and found it very, very insulting.

“He's clearly desperate and struggling to find anyone that he doesn't have to pay for a sex.”

Pereira had not made his Premier League debut at the time of the alleged incident, but had made his first league appearance less than a week before the story came out on 20 March; he played a 15 minute cameo in a 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on 15 March.

McKinney claimed that Pereira, found her on Twitter after meeting at the Neighbourhood bar in Manchester following the team’s Christmas party, with McKinney being invited to the VIP area to enjoy drinks with the club’s players.

In a series of WhatsApp messages, McKinney apparent questions if Pereira “actually wanted a threesome”, to which he responded with an offer of £5,000 each from himself and McNair.

Pereira is alleged to have replied: “Threesome. Will take care of u. U want? How much. Tell me. We were ready to pay 5 each.”

The story came a month after a player was alleged to have been filmed by team-mates while being involved in an “intimate sex act” with a woman in the toilets of a nightclub, with the video then being passed around by them.

In the same interview Pereira admitted that Manchester is a difficult city to adapt to for those from abroad.

"Manchester is a difficult city to adapt," he said. "It rains a lot, it's cold. In the Netherlands [it also rains], but it's different.

"The food is also complicated. But my mother is now living here, [that] helps a lot in this part ."
