Michael Carrick: Manchester United midfielder yet to learn whether he will receive new contract
The 34-year-old vice-captain may have made his last appearance for the club in Saturday's FA Cup final

Michael Carrick has yet to discover whether he will be handed a new contract at Manchester United after making what could be his final appearance for the club in the FA Cup Final.
The 34-year-old, an £18.6million signing from Tottenham in the summer of 2006, is out of contract at the end of next month and is still waiting for the club to confirm whether he will be retained or released ahead of the anticipated arrival of new manager Jose Mourinho.
Carrick ended the campaign having made 42 appearances in all competitions under Louis van Gaal, his best appearance figures since playing 46 times in Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement campaign in 2012-13.
But with managerial uncertainty surrounding the club, no decision has been relayed to the Newcastle-born player about his future.
Despite lucrative interest from China, Carrick is understood to have no desire to move to the Far East, although the former England midfielder could yet be tempted by the offer of a move to the MLS.
