Jose Mourinho has insisted that he had “no problem” with Pep Guardiola speaking about Manchester United’s Paul Pogba before Saturday’s Manchester derby.

Guardiola sensationally claimed on Friday that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola had offered the midfielder to Manchester City during the most recent transfer window.

The City manager’s remarks came as part of a long-running feud with Raiola, who labelled Guardiola “a coward” and “a dog” last month.

The revelation also increased scrutiny of Pogba, but the 25-year-old responded in the best possible way, scoring twice and inspiring United to an incredible 3-2 comeback victory at the Etihad.

After United’s victory had postponed City’s title celebrations for at least another week, Mourinho was asked whether Guardiola’s decision to disclose sensitive information about one of his star players had displeased him.

“No, I don’t even think about it,” the United manager said. “We know Guardiola [and] Mino, the relationship is not the best so it is normal that sometimes they can come with a little touch on each other, but I was not worried about it.

“I was not upset by it, I didn’t speak with Paul about it, I didn’t call Mino to ask him anything at all,” he added.

“I was just focused on the game and I think Paul the same, because the way he played is only possible when he’s focused on the game.”

When asked directly whether Guardiola was wrong to speak about another club’s player, Mourinho said: “I often make mistakes,” adding, “No, no problem.”
