Manchester United U21s win Premier League title with victory over Tottenham
Youth side triumph bodes well for future - but not neccessarily an immediate upturn

Manchester United won the U21 Premier League last night in what the club will hope signals a bright future.
A 3-2 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane moved the club two points clear of Sunderland who have already played all their games. It means the title has been secured with two games to spare.
Among the team were a number of players who have featured in the senior side this season including Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Paddy McNair, Donald Love, Andreas Pereira and Guillermo Varela. It was the latter's injury time goal that secured maximum points for Manchester United in last night's match.
While the title win suggests the club have some talented players coming through it does not necessarily signal there will be a direct knock-on effect of upturned fortunes for the senior team.
United won the U21 title last year but the senior side are struggling to finish in the top four this term. They also won the U21 title in 2012/13 but the season after that the first-team finished seventh in the Premier League.
However, Chelsea won the U21 title in 2013/14 and the season after the Blues went on to lift the Premier League trophy.
