This is how the injured Mesut Ozil watched Arsenal's game against Stoke today, with his feet up in his house.

The £42.5m German international was absent for the Gunners trip with a slight foot injury, the club confirmed.

So instead of playing in frosty 1C temperatures at the Britannia Stadium, Ozil rested and watched the game with his dog, Balboa.

Ozil added in the tweet that he hopes to be back for the Gunners next match, against Chelsea next Sunday.

The 27-year-old, who has been Arsenal's standout performer this season with 16 assists in the Premier League, wrote: "Watching the match vs. Stoke! Hopefully I'll be back well for the next match. But for now: COME ON YOU GUNNERS."

Arsenal were also without another key man in Alexis Sanchez on Sunday, with the Chile forward, sidelined of late by a hamstring problem, not featuring in the matchday squad despite Gunners boss Arsene Wenger suggesting he could be involved for the first time since November.

New signing Mohamed Elneny was named on the bench.
