Germany international goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is not about to sign for Manchester United, according to his current club Schalke.
The 23-year-old's agent had claimed that Schalke were keen to sell the highly-rated shot-stopper in January in an attempt to improve their current financial problems.
However, the German side's boss, Felix Magath, has moved quickly to dampen down the speculation, telling Bild: "I have said that Manuel Neuer is not for sale and there is no more news on this.
"We have a strong desire to play in the Champions League again. Therefore we are going to need our best players.
"I am definitely not prepared to sell potentially the best shot-stopper in Germany."
Neuer, who is contracted to Schalke until the end of the 2011-12 campaign, has made more than 100 starts for the Bundesliga side.
"I really admire Sir Alex Ferguson. He's been around for so long, always winning titles."
