New images released on Wednesday show that the development at Liverpool's Anfield stadium is well under way.
After years of deciding whether to build a new home in nearby Stanley Park, the club opted to redevelop the Main Road stand of the 131-year-old stadium.
The £114million extension, part of a £260m scheme in the wider Anfield area, will eventually take the stadium's capacity to 54,000, making it the fourth biggest in the Premier League, with work to be completed in time for the start of the 2016-17 season.
New images show a giant roof truss being prepared to be lifted into position later this month by two of the biggest cranes in Europe.
Concrete walkways which will take supporters to the top of the new 20,000-seat stand can also clearly be seen.
The stand will add around 8,500 seats to capacity with half of those going to the corporate market - a move that was criticised but has been defended by the club who claim that the seats will generate around £20m in revenue per season.
After work is complete the club will then expand the Anfield Road end, taking the capacity up to 60,000.
