Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi has signed a two-year extension to his contract at St James' Park.

The 29-year-old, who has been at the club since he was 13, scored nine Premier League goals last season. "Newcastle is, and always will be, my club," the striker said.

The Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: "He has done a terrific job for me since I've been here."
