Newcastle will be more than aware of the threat of Sergio Aguero tonight as they seek to move out of the relegation zone. As well as Saturday's hat-trick at Chelsea, the Argentine scored five in the reverse meeting at the Etihad back in October and has scored 10 career goals against the Toon.

80 min: NEW 1-1 MNC City have been dictating proceedings in the past few minutes and look likelier to gain a winner - that would be a shame for a Newcastle side who have put in a decent shift tonight. Andros Townsend, one of their better performers, is applauded off, Georginio Wijnaldum jogging on for the final 10 minutes.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez praised his teams determination. "Against a team like Man City, to do what we have done from 1-0 down, the reaction of the team, you have to be pleased," he admitted. "I haven't seen the replay of Aguero's goal but they tell me he was offside. You can not change anything. I think they should get it right but we cannot change it. That's it."

The Spaniard remained positive of his side's chances of avoiding relegation. "The team has more belief now, the fans are behind the players and they will fight to the end. Today was an example. Vurnon Anita is very clever, he knows when he has to go forward. The players are doing what they have to do, they are playing with passion, with the commitment the fans expect."
