Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants permanent Manchester United job

Romelu Lukaku came off the bench to fire Manchester United to success at Newcastle.

The Belgium international took advantage of a poor piece of goalkeeping from Martin Dubravka, who allowed Marcus Rashford’s low free-kick to escape from his grasp in the penalty box.

Lukaku was on hand to convert the rebound, which maintained Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s perfect start to life as caretaker manager. Marcus Rashford then made sure of the win with a good finish late on.

The win sees United maintain their charge on the top four. They sit three points behind Arsenal in fifth, and six behind Chelsea in fourth.

Newcastle meanwhile sit just two points above the relegation places.
