Premier League season in numbers

Amazon Prime have confirmed the 20 Premier League fixtures they will be showing in December, including Liverpool vs Everton.

In 2018, the online streaming and retail giant won the rights to show two exclusive weeks of top-flight coverage for the next three years.

The Boxing Day fixtures will be streamed online as well as a mid-week set in early December.

Manchester United vs Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool vs Everton are the two stand-out ties from the first set of fixtures taking place on 3rd, 4th and 5th December.

The live Boxing Day games, which take place on 26th and 27th December, include Crystal Palace vs West Ham, Leicester vs Liverpool and Manchester United vs Newcastle.

The additional deal means that supporters may need to have three separate television subscriptions to be able to access live Premier League football.

The Football Supporters Federation criticised the new deal and expressed concern over away supporters.

“Fans are already of the view that there is too much live football on TV and this announcement concludes a deal that has pushed the number of broadcast games to record levels," it said in a statement.

"The main driver for this increase has been the 2016 ruling by Ofcom which has directly led to this increase. Introducing a third broadcaster into the mix just means more subscriptions for fans.

"We are concerned that the number of broadcast games could have a negative effect on attendances by away fans in particular.

"It is vital that more of these television revenues are invested in guaranteeing the participation and contribution of match-goers."

Amazon Prime membership costs £79 a year or £7.99 a month. However, as it stands, new members can try Prime for 30 days for free, which will allow fans to watch all of the games in December should this offer remain in place.
