The Premier League plans a detailed presentation to its players, to assure them of their safety once the competition returns.
The issue of player health has proved one of the most controversial in ‘Project Restart’, as there is a general feeling decisions have been taken above their head, and without consultation.
While multiple sources insist “the majority are desperate to return”, many understandably have reservations.
Some, like Sergio Aguero, have publicly revealed their fears about getting back playing amidst the coronavirus crisis.
Sources maintain the Premier League is obviously aware of concerns, but that there is little point in putting together a huge presentation, until after the terms of return are actually settled.
The competition is set to stage another videoconference on Monday, where there will be further discussion about the logistics of Project Restart, and issues like testing and medical treatment.
Even before that, the Premier League must secure consensus on how it will return, given the bottom six are currently against the idea of neutral grounds.
It has been stressed to them, however, that this is the only option to get back playing.
Once there is agreement, and the Premier League get confirmation of when they can return, there are plans for full engagement with players and the PFA in order to assuage fears and give detailed breakdowns on what will be done to ensure safe environments.
