West Ham new boy Matt Jarvis is in line for his home debut as Sam Allardyce's men look to build on a promising start to the new Barclays Premier League season with victory over Sunderland.

Jarvis has impressed since his £10.75million move from Wolves and Allardyce believes he will have a major part to play this season.

Allardyce said: "Matt is fit and has been training all week and the squad has really come together. My hope is that (the new players) replicate what they have done at their previous clubs for West Ham United."

Sunderland's Adam Johnson faces a race to be fit following the thigh injury that ruled him out of last week's 1-1 draw with Liverpool, while Carlos Cuellar is a definite absentee with a hamstring complaint.

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup insists there must be no complacency at his club as the Welsh side bid to build on their own promising start to the campaign at home to Everton.

Laudrup said: "We are happy with the points we have got but it's only a start. We cannot sit back and think, 'That's great'. We know we have to get a lot of points, it is vital for us."

Ashley Williams could be added to the Swans' lengthening injury list with an ankle complaint, while Victor Anichebe is pushing to start for the Toffees after his late goal against Newcastle on Monday.

Southampton boss Nigel Adkins can ease speculation about his future by inspiring his side to their first points of the season at home to Aston Villa, who will bid to build on last week's 2-0 win over Swansea.

Reading boss Brian McDermott believes his side can take plenty of inspiration from the likes of Swansea and Norwich as they look to survive in their first season back in the top flight with plenty to spare.

McDermott, whose side travel to West Brom tomorrow, said: "You can certainly take inspiration from what Brendan (Rodgers) did at Swansea and what Paul (Lambert) did at Norwich. Their form was phenomenal."

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez heads into the Latics' DW Stadium clash with Fulham convinced about the quality of his squad after last season's dramatic escape from relegation.

Martinez said: "I would say this is probably the best squad we've had since I've been here. We want to have the feeling we can go anywhere to have a positive result, and that is probably the difference this season."

Michael Owen is likely to have to start from the bench again for his new side Stoke against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, with the former Liverpool man taking time to convince Tony Pulis of his match fitness.

In Sunday's action, Newcastle bid to build on their great escape at Everton on Monday when they entertain Norwich, while Tottenham face QPR in a London derby.
