Manuel Pellegrini has made four changes to the team that suffered a shock home defeat to CSKA Moscow in midweek.
Captain Vincent Kompany is injured and is replaced by £32m centre-back Eliaquim Mangala, while Bacary Sagna also comes into a revamped defence with Pablo Zabaleta dropping to the bench.
Samir Nasri will start on the left in place of James Milner, while Fernandinho plays instead of Stevan Jovetic; Yaya Toure will push further up the pitch.
Frank Lampard also returns to the bench after injury.
Harry Redknapp has made just one change to the team that narrowly lost to Chelsea last weekend, with Bobby Zamora replacing Junior Hoilett, who drops to the bench.
