On a week when Harry Redknapp needed to a result to cast away doubts on his job, QPR were ultimately outclassed after putting in a brave performance in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.

While United looked cagey for the first 45, they began to pull away in the second half with Fellani’s introduction proving the catalyst that they needed. QPR struggled to deal with his physicality and the speed of substitute James Wilson who deservedly added a second.

Harry Redknapp’s men weren’t without their moments, but the United defence, which has conspired to undo them in recent weeks, hung grimly on before James Wilson put the game out of reach.

This was not a vintage performance from Van Gaal’s team: several times Charlie Austin had good chances to put his side in front after sloppy passes from the United back-line, but QPR weren’t good enough and remain very much involved in the relegation battle.

So how did the player rate?
