Radamel Falcao has cried over his difficult time at Manchester United, according to his former agent.

Silvano Espindola also revealed that the decision to play the Colombia international in a recent Under-21 match had left Falcao feeling uncomfortable.

Since joining on loan from Monaco for wages reportedly in the region of £300,000-a-week, the 29-year-old has scored just four goals. Such a poor return has seen Falcao reach a point where he is struggling to even get a game under Louis van Gaal, whilst the likelihood of his move to Old Trafford being made permanent in the summer appear incredibly unlikely.

The situation has left the former Atletico Madrid player unhappy according to Espindola.

"We talk a lot. I'm not going to say that he feels happy because he's not. We've spoken many times and cried together," he told AS Colombia.

"It's not an easy situation because every player wants to play and every goal-scorer wants to score goals, that's normal.

He continued: "But, at the moment, he isn't scoring and that's part of his football. He's recovering his best form.

"When we spoke, I told him that this happens to every striker, that he'll get over this poor run. When you don't score, you're going to begin to feel the pressure."

The day after Falcao was an unused substitute for the recent FA Cup defeat to Arsenal, he was picked to play for Manchester United's Under-21 side. According to Espindola, his former client felt uncomfortable doing so.

"When he was on his way to the ground to play this game with the reserves, he called me," he added.

"We spoke for 20 minutes until he reached the stadium and he told me 'I've never been through something like this, I don't know how to deal with this situation. It feels weird for me'."
