Radamel Falcao has no future at Manchester United, it is understood.

Reports today claim the Colombian striker has been told by Old Trafford officials that they will not take up the option to sign him on a permanent basis when his season-long loan from Monaco expires.

The club has been weighing up the option on whether to trigger the £43.2m agreement that was put in place when he arrived on transfer deadline day last summer. They now appear to have come to the conclusion that the 29-year-old former Atletico Madrid and Porto striker is not the best option.

A return of just four goals during his time at Old Trafford will have weighed heavily in the club's thinking.

Falcao was not even named on the bench by manager Louis van Gaal for the final match of the season, away against Hull City.
