Sergio Aguero was delighted with his 20 minute, five-goal haul as Manchester City come from behind to beat Newcastle at the Etihad.
Aleksandar Mitrovic put Newcastle into a shock lead but the Argentinian, who had not scored a Premier League goal since the 3-0 win over Chelsea in mid-August struck just before half-time, before a devestating spell in the second half that saw him add four more.
City ended up winning 6-1 with Kevin De Bruyne also on target for Manuel Pellegrini's team.
"I am very happy. I am very happy with my goals but for me the three points is more important than the goals. Five goals is good and I am happy," said Aguero after the win.
"I hope to continue in the same way. I am happy to score all these goals because it was useful to win. I think it was four games without scoring any goals in the Premier League so I am really pleased about my performance today."
Aguero's haul equalled a Premier League record held jointly by Andy Cole, Jermain Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov and Alan Shearer for the most goals scored by one player in a match.
He might have gone on to surpass the mark had he not been substituted by manager Manuel Pellegrini in the 66th minute, but it was later revealed the 27-year-old had been carrying a knock.
Aguero said: "I've just realised here in the dressing room that I equalled this record but the most important thing is that we won this game and got the three points.
"I had a problem with my hamstring in the last game in the Champions League against Borussia (Monchengladbach) but now I am feeling good. It was a good decision from the manager to change me because it means no risk."
