It's one of the enduring debates of modern football: who is better, Paul Scholes or Steven Gerrard?

Manchester United and Liverpool fans will hold obvious bias towards their chosen hero, while neutral fans are often split on the question based on a variety of reasons.

Gerrard never won a Premier League title but scored more goals and played - for the most part - for an inferior team. But he did score more goals, was a better tackler, and often delivered in the big moments. Bute Scholes is unrivalled with the ball at his feet and set the tempo for many of Sir Alex Ferguson's most successful teams.

The Premier League decided to ask a number of current Premier League players the question and posted the results on their Facebook page:
