Chris Smalling scored an unlikely double for Manchester United against Burnley in the 3-1 win, meaning he has now scored the same amount of Premier League goals as £59.7m Angel Di Maria, and only one fewer than the Colombian striker Radamel Falcao.

Smalling's first goal of the game came only 22 seconds after replacing Jonny Evans, and was scored with his first touch of the ball. His name was soon trending on Twitter.

Robin Persie added a third for United. Danny INgs (who else?) was on the scoresheet for Burnley.

United are next in action on Monday, in the FA Cup fifth-round away at Preston North End.
