Sunderland v West Ham: Karren Brady stands by Sam Allardyce following boos that greeted West Ham's win over Hull

West Ham's performance against ten man Hull was met with boos from the crowd in midweek with Brady claiming this was unacceptable

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady believes that manger Sam Allardyce had every right to be upset over the boos that greeted the Hammers’ 2-1 victory over Hull on Wednesday.

Brady has said she cannot accept the jeers that came from the crowd after the team’s victory and has backed Allardyce’s displeasure over reaction.

A portion of the Upton Park faithful were unhappy with their team’s performance against a Hull side that played with ten men for the majority of the game.

The Hammers needed a penalty and an own goal to claim victory and had less possession to their opponents on the night, leading to many inside the ground to boo off the players at full time despite the win.

The reaction provoked Allardyce into cupping his ear in a sarcastic fashion and Brady believes her manager was right to feel aggrieved.

Writing her weekly diary for The Sun newspaper, she said: "Sam had selected a team for a low-scoring match, knowing what to expect against Hull, and could not have predicted he needed instead a team to play against 10 men.

"His actions on the pitch were prudent and, at this stage of the season, correct. There is no way I can accept my team being booed. It undermines them when, in particular, they are giving everything they have to make up for the bad time the club endured before Christmas.

"Big Sam is so upset he complains that he has never heard a winning team booed. While this might not be strictly true, I doubt you would get the same at Fulham or Sunderland if they had won."
