Tottenham Hotspur are confident Dele Alli will a sign a new deal that will double his wages, as the club attempts to tie down the core of the current squad to new deals.

Although formal talks have yet to start with the 21-year-old, initial soundings have been positive, and the English international has made clear his happiness at the club and willingness to sign a contract that would take him up to £100,000 a week.

This comes amid numerous changes to the structure surrounding Alli, with the player having recently signed to CAA and Sports PR.

While there had been a feeling that the young player may explore other options amid glowing praise, he is content with both his development at Spurs and the development of the team.

The move comes as part of chairman Daniel Levy’s plans to lock down all the club’s stars. With Toby Alderweireld’s deal set to run out in the summer of 2019, the club has already held a meeting with the defender with more scheduled in the months ahead.

Tottenham are also working on an eventual new offer for striker Harry Kane.
