David Thompson says Blackburn need to start showing a mean streak or risk facing a difficult season. Blackburn go into the second leg of the Uefa Cup first round game against Genclerbirligi facing a 3-1 deficit from the match in Ankara on Wednesday night.

The former Coventry and Liverpool winger said: "Individual errors are costing us dearly. Until they're eradicated then we'll end up leaking goals all season. We were guilty of showing them too much respect."

Graeme Souness, furious at the way his team played, could make changes against Fulham on Sunday. "Some of us have been sloppy in our first half," the manager said. "We've got a chance to put it right in the second game and it's not impossible for us to win 2-0."
