Uefa Cup: Seaman's error blamed on lights

Kevin Keegan has blamedfloodlights for David Seaman's latest mistake.

The veteran goalkeeper continued a succession of errors when he was caught out by Lokeren's equaliser in City's 3-2 Uefa Cup first-leg victory on Wednesday night. Seaman appeared ready to collect Sun Jihai's misdirected header on the edge of his box but hesitated and allowed Patrick Zoundi to nip in and score.

"The lights could have been a problem," Keegan said. "He didn't know whether to stick or twist because the ball was coming down right on the edge of the penalty area.

"David apologised at half-time. The man who hasn't made a mistake hasn't been born yet but it would be harsh to blame David for that goal."
