A three-year-old girl has stated her claim to being the most passionate Manchester United fan in the world after she threw a tantrum at seeing her new school uniform – in Manchester City blue.

However, the Red Devils have moved swiftly to cheer up Lilly and along with comforting her that it’s OK to wear blue, promised to send her their third kit – which is unsurprisingly blue.

The video of Lilly in tears has flooded social media sites as her mum Faye attempts to calm her down, explaining that United’s alternative strip is royal blue, the same colour as Lilly’s pre-school cardigan that she has to wear.

But mounting an argument that Roy Keane would be proud of, Lilly fights her corner as the tears stream down her face, and she displays a passion for the club that you’d struggle to witness matched on the pitch these days.

Watch the video below...

When the Manchester Evening Standard had their article re-tweeted by the United’s official Twitter account, the club added: “Lilly, you can still wear blue and be a Red! We’ll send you our third kit and we’d love you invite you to a game. See you soon!”

Should Lilly take up the club’s offer and visit a United match in the near-future, she could well head to the blue-half of Manchester with Louis van Gaal’s side facing rivals City at the Etihad Stadium on 2 November.
