West Ham vs Newcastle team news: Downing and Kouyate return for the Hammers

Sam Allardyce and Alan Pardew both make three changes

Sam Allardyce has made three changes to the side that succumbed 2-1 to Everton last week.

Carlton Cole and Kevin Nolan drop to the bench, while Winston Reid is suspended.

They are replaced by Stewart Downing, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Matt Jarvis.

Alan Pardew has also opted to make a trio of alterations after Newcastle's 1-0 victory over QPR.

Rob Elliot comes in for Tim Krul, who picked up an ankle injury in training, while Cheick Tiote replaces Ryan Taylor, who is set to miss a month after limping out of his return to first team action last week.

Yoann Gouffran also earns a start, replacing Rémy Cabella.
