Leicester can win the Premier League title this weekend, however whether they manage to do it or not, they will have to wait to get their hands on the trophy.

The Foxes need just two more points to be mathematically certain of winning the title, meaning victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday would be enough.

However, if they manage to do it, they won't receive the trophy after the game.

Instead, the Premier League have confirmed to the Independent that Leicester will be handed the hunk of silver the following weekend, after their final game at the King Power Stadium against Everton - on the proviso that they've actually won the title.

That news will be welcomed by the club's top scorer Jamie Vardy, who will play no part at Old Trafford due to suspension. The striker will be back in action for the game with Everton.

Should Leicester have not won the title prior the last day of the season, which would mean Tottenham were still in the reckoning come Sunday 15 May, the trophy will have to hover between Newcastle and London until the day's results are determined. Spurs play at St James' Park on the final day and Leicester are at the home of reigning champions Chelsea.
