Wolves skipper Karl Henry is confident the club will keep hold of England winger Matt Jarvis and their other key players after avoiding relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

Jarvis made his international debut in March against Ghana and has since been linked with both Liverpool and Aston Villa.

The 25-year-old was voted Wolves' player of the year despite being rested for a couple of recent matches after a dip in form.

Henry said: "We are a club with ambition and the chairman Steve Morgan has come in and improved the stadium and has got big ideas.

"He'll be looking to buy more players like Matt Jarvis rather than sell them.

"It's important we keep players like Matt Jarvis and our other top stars and I think we will."

Henry believes Wolves must again merely concentrate on staying up next season rather than having loftier ambitions.

He said: "I think it's definitely about survival next season.

"I think you need to be in this league for six or seven years before you can really call yourself a Premier League club.

"We'd love to finish in mid-table but the target will be to get to 40 points and see where we are after that."
