The Hearts captain, Steven Pressley, dismissed talk of conspiracy theories after his side defeated Celtic 3-0.
The victory yesterday restored their four-point cushion over Rangers in the race for second place, and there had been suggestions before the game that Celtic would field a weakened side because they did not want to help Rangers' chances of joining them in the Champions' League next season.
However, Pressley said: "Anyone who witnessed today's game certainly couldn't make any accusations against Celtic. It was a fantastic advertisement for the Scottish game."
Rangers maintained the pressure with a 3-1 win at Kilmarnock on Saturday.
