Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho apparently made a cheeky bid for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to be included in a potential deal to sell Petr Cech to Arsenal.
The big Czech goalkeeper, who wants to leave Stamford Bridge after a season spent as Thibaut Courtois' No 2, wants to join the Gunners after 10 years at rivals Chelsea.
Mourinho would ideally like to keep Cech, but knows he wants to leave, and is especially desperate to keep him out of Arsenal's hands, who would become serious title contenders if he were to join.
According to the Daily Mirror, Mourinho made an offer to include England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but rival Arsene Wenger rejected it out of hand.
Last month, Mourinho said: “Every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player that I like in that team too.”
Wenger and Arsenal remain hopeful of a straight £10million deal for the goalkeeper.
